Newcastle and adidas have officially launched the club’s 2024-25 home kit and training range having re-united with the German athletic after 14 years.
The Magpies last donned the three stripes during the 2009-10 season, with Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Dan Burn all being seen modelling the new strip.
Hundreds of fans had been seen queuing up outside St James’ Park on Friday morning to get their hands on one of the new home shirts. The line of supporters weaved its way around several blocks leading to the club’s merchandise store.
It features Newcastle’s iconic black and white stripes and draws inspiration from their classic 2002-03 home kit, which was worn when the Magpies’ most recent previous appearance in the Champions League, barring the 2022-23 season.
It comes after Newcastle and adidas announced a multi-year partnership in 2023. The news was first leaked during Newcastle’s Amazon Prime documentary, where a delegation of club representatives were seen travelling to Germany – where adidas is based – to agree the deal.

Co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi was pictured at the factory during the episode saying to adidas employees: ‘It feels like two old lovers getting back together.’
The club states that the stripes on the new jersey are a homage to that era, bolder than the stripes on last season’s jersey, which was produced by Castore.

The deal will see the German sportswear brand become Newcastle’s official kit partner from next season onwards having previously supplied the club between 1995 and 2010.
The club will wear the new kit for the first time during their pre-season matches over the summer.
Newcastle chief commercial officer, Peter Silverstone, who was in attendance as the club shop opened it’s doors on Friday morning, said: ‘This iconic home kit, and training range, symbolises the start of an exciting partnership with adidas, one of the world’s most renowned sportswear brands.
‘The strength of the relationship that adidas enjoys with our passionate fanbase gives us great confidence that the exciting product ranges they have created for the 24/25 season, and beyond, will be extremely popular. We know our fans will wear the three stripes with pride.
‘This partnership launch, aligned with the re-launch of the Club’s in-house retail business, is just the start of an exciting journey.
